How to play
Truss Me! challenges you to build the lightest structure that can carry a given load. Place joints, connect them with members, and run the test: a physics engine stretches, buckles, and breaks your design in real time, and you earn a better score the lighter your structure is. In the challenge levels you compete against the computer’s design; in freestyle mode you can build anything and see how it behaves.
About the app
Truss Me! was created by Prof. Rimoli to teach the intuition behind structural mechanics, from load paths and buckling to the trade-off between weight and strength, in a way that works before any equations are introduced. Since its first release it has been downloaded more than one million times in 150 countries and is used to teach structural mechanics in high schools and leading universities around the world. The new version, rebuilt from the ground up, runs in the browser as well as on iOS and Android.
